Google Street View in Nepal

Google Street view is a technology that allows us to watch panaromic views of many streets of the world. This technology is featured in Google Maps and Google Earth. This is a great service actually and it allows us to view many streets of the world as if we are standing right there.

Google Street view is available for 48 countries of the world. I am glad to say that Google Street view is available for Nepal as well. Not all or any streets of Nepal are covered with Google Street View. Only mountain landmark views are available. Google Street view is specifically available for the whole of Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar

Namche Bazaar is the main city situated at the lap of the Himalayas. It is a market that comes before one embarks on a journey towards Everest, the highest mountain in the world. The whole of Namche Bazaar is featured in Google Street view and it is fun to travel through the streets of Namche. This provides you an experience of traveling in Namche through Google Earth or Map. Try it right now. Click here or the picture above to see how cool the place Namche Bazaar is.

Google also allows the submission of user clicked Panoramic views. Due to this there are other places of Nepal for which you can view those panoramic views. Google Employees and other people have been able to click and share the panoramic views of places such as Everest Base Camp, certain Views of Everest and some World Heritage sites in Nepal.

Here are three of those that I find interesting:

Everest Base Camp
Kala Patthar
Patan Durbar Square

May be, in the future, the streets of Nepal will be available in this amazing feature by Google. But now, the highest peaks of the world situated in Nepal will have to do.
